Species in Hexenbiest are the same as in the TV series Grimm. We give you, the rper, the creative freedom to have fun with these species and if you want, go all out with the creation of a new species! It's totally up to you, originality is key!
In Hexenbiest, we offer 4 different types of species.
Grimm
Wesen
Hybrid
Human
Grimm. Also known as "The Hunters" and subhumans with special abilities, and who's physical and mental capabilities are above that of a normal human. They are overall superior to the average human. They are the only people in the world who can see a Wesen's true form. Along with that, they also have a special ability they are born with. This ability depends on the Grimm, but it's deadly nonetheless.
Wesen are the beasts that the hunters hunt. They are the prey, but they are also the predator. Coming in many types of variants, avian/bestial/aquatic and even mythological. In their humanoid form, they are the typical human, but with slight differences. Aspects such as strength, intelligence, etc are enhanced, but not to a point where it would be deemed "Supernatural". But for some creatures, this doesn't apply. Fully transformed, they're a force to be reckoned with.
Hybrids are a different ballgame altogether. Depending on the type of parents they have, there are currently 3 type of hybrids, with the last being only a myth.
A communion of a Wesen and Human will result in the child with 50% human and 50% wesen DNA. With the ability to transform only 50% of their physique, they have the characteristic of a human with above average physical and mental aspects. This continues in their transformation phase.
The communion of a Mixed-Wesen hybrid will result in an unexpected amalgamation of both parents. Taking 50% of the fathers and 50% of the mothers, but these percentages can vary as both genetics will try and fight to be the most dominant. In most cases, the offspring will usually end up being the more dominant Wesen. But they have more health risks than the average.
The last is a legend. And one that will be revealed in time.
Humans are none of the above. But, that doesn't mean they're all useless. While they have nothing that puts them above, they are the normal. While some are more genetically potent, such as having more superior strength, enhanced mental capacity, flexibility, etc. Even genetic mutations, humans come in all different shapes and sizes, but that is usually the end of it.
